"I jump because life is for living. I want to scream out that my life has not yet faded into the gray background of monotony and drudgery. Responsibility and realism may tie me to a staid facade most of the day, most of the days, so lost are the ways of youth and frivolity. Then escape comes, an afternoon away, time to walk without purpose, unrestrained. Camera ever handy to document the absurdity, I protest my earthbound state with fleeting bursts of freedom. The air rushes past. Childhood gives a fleeting wink. My body sings. I jump." - Timothy

Giving Thanks 2011: Challenge + Contest Winner
In November of 2011, we asked jumpers to submit a photo that kept the spirit of Thanksgiving and this quote in mind:
"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures." -Thornton Wilder
This photo above, sent in by Rick from Utah, was chosen as the winner of this JB Challenge + Contest! His submission features his family, who was celebrating their first Christmas together in 5 years. As Rick put it, "That was a moment worth jumping." The complete story behind the jump and the original post can be viewed here.

A wonderful JumpBecause story:
In June 2010, JumpBecause hosted a Potluck-for-a-Cause fundraiser to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. People brought amazing food, made fun crafts, participated in a raffle, and listened to great local music... and of course JUMPED! Check out the highlights of our fundraiser on the "Causes" page.
Jump Because in MSU Alumni Magazine
Jump Because was interviewed for the Michigan State University Alumni Magazine (Winter 2010 issue, p. 15).
One of Jump Because's founders attended MSU as an undergraduate and we're all proud to see JB featured among other Spartan news!
