HAPPY THANKSGIVING from Jump Because 11/26/2009
Today in the USA, we're celebrating Thanksgiving. As tradition has it, Thanksgiving is filled with amazing harvest food (think: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberries, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie - yum, yum, and yum!), and we slow the pace of the busy lives we lead to catch up with friends and family and be at peace for a day. At times it can feel like the only thing certain in life is uncertainty. Today we can think on the light and dark in life, and remember to do those things that help us stay light, and happy. Like jumping... :) Here at JumpBecause, we're taking a few days off to be with our friends and family, and we wish all of you out there a wonderful Thanksgiving! We'll be back after the holiday.  In November of 2011, we asked jumpers to submit a photo that kept the spirit of Thanksgiving and this quote in mind:
"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures." -Thornton Wilder This photo above, sent in by Rick from Utah, was chosen as the winner of this JB Challenge + Contest! His submission features his family, who was celebrating their first Christmas together in 5 years. As Rick put it, "That was a moment worth jumping." A wonderful JumpBecause story: Jump Because... For a Cause!
In June 2010, JumpBecause hosted a Potluck-for-a-Cause fundraiser to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. People brought amazing food, made fun crafts, participated in a raffle, and listened to great local music... and of course JUMPED! Check out the highlights of our fundraiser on the "Causes" page.
