"My friend, Quanwei, jumps because our college entrance exam is over. What we will face is a new world. Our new life in college is at the corner... I took that photo in the classroom of my high school the day we graduated from school." -Chenfeng HangZhou, China Add Comment "We jump because the sun is about to set on the #1 star gazing location in the world." -Dana Mauna Kea, Hawaii Today in the USA, we're celebrating Thanksgiving. As tradition has it, Thanksgiving is filled with amazing harvest food (think: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, cranberries, sweet potatoes, pumpkin pie - yum, yum, and yum!), and we slow the pace of the busy lives we lead to catch up with friends and family and be at peace for a day. At times it can feel like the only thing certain in life is uncertainty. Today we can think on the light and dark in life, and remember to do those things that help us stay light, and happy. Like jumping... :) Here at JumpBecause, we're taking a few days off to be with our friends and family, and we wish all of you out there a wonderful Thanksgiving! We'll be back after the holiday. Happy Thanksgiving! What makes YOU light? Send your jumps and jumping stories about the things that help to keep light in your life to jumpbecause@gmail.com! "I decided to use inspiration from jumpbecause for my self-portrait. Sort of like 'I jump because I'm me!' The little circle things inside are things I've done, events in my life, and maybe even labels I would give myself/other people would call me. The point is that everything I've done is a part of me, flowing through the interior like veins or a map of my life. I thought the jumpbecause position was perfect because I think it says that I'm happy with who I am, the good and the bad, look at me! I hope you enjoy!" - Lizzie Auburn, Alabama |
