I jump for Mont Blanc!" - Paula Chamonix, France Jump Because would like to give a shout-out to one of our friends, who is biking for a cause this summer.  Dan Durller, age 30, grew up in Fort Edward, New York but currently live in Brooklyn, New York with his wife Sara. He's been biking since he was 15, and ever since he's had the idea to bike across country. Now that he's 30, Daniel felt it was time to make the jump and just go for it!  Here's more from Dan on Biking for a Cause: "As excited as I am to do the tour, I recognize that it is somewhat selfish. I am not working in our crippled economy, and able to afford such an adventure. I am very lucky for that. With that said, I felt I needed to give something back, so I am riding in the name of my late Uncle Larry from my fathers side of the family who passed away last year from lung cancer. He was a great man and very close to my sister and I growing up. He was that uncle that was in close proximity to the family farm I grew up on, the one that dressed up as Santa at Christmas, the one who would take us kids pumpkin hunting in the fall, and the one who would play his guitar in front of the bon fire on late summer evenings.  In November of 2011, we asked jumpers to submit a photo that kept the spirit of Thanksgiving and this quote in mind:

His submission features his family, who was celebrating their first Christmas together in 5 years. As Rick put it, "That was a moment worth jumping." A wonderful JumpBecause story: Jump Because... For a Cause!
In June 2010, JumpBecause hosted a Potluck-for-a-Cause fundraiser to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. People brought amazing food, made fun crafts, participated in a raffle, and listened to great local music... and of course JUMPED! Check out the highlights of our fundraiser on the "Causes" page.
